Party is hired by a noble to return a gladiator who was stolen from him. A known arena owner is the culprit. The noble already hired 2 other teams to do this, whoever returns successfully gets the reward of 200gp. A map of the place was given as well as an event schedule: 2 days before it the fighters will be delivered to the location and held in their Arena Quarters; and the day of the event which starts at 8am will have 10 scheduled fights (1 every 30 minutes), where the Targets fight starts at 11am (the 6th fight); all fights are to the death unless they plead mercy to the host.

If the gladiator they are retrieving is another player: they are a character with the gladiator background, who was rewarded with an additional level over the party because they wouldn't be a large role for a decent portion of the session.

There are officers of cr1 (x10), cr3 (x4), and cr6 (2) stationed around the place. As long as the party doesnt become chaotically violent they'll only deal with the guards acting like bouncers if they are caught. The CR3's will intervene if there is combat. The CR6's will attempt to kill if players assault the host of the event.

The arena event has betting so there is a safe with plenty of gold if they tempt fate and try to steal from the event. Also there is a closet in the building with 5 spare guard uniforms, offering decent starting equipment for the party in case they didnt start with what they needed.

If players acted prior to the event it's a simple sneak mission. but the one of the other hired teams gets caught and security is on alert.

If they acted on the day of the event and get caught, it will be because the other hired team got caught and ratted out their appearance to the host. The host will have them fight their Gladiator target. I let one or two players avoid capture so they could help from the sidelines.

Based on how it goes, the Noble, the Host, and the Rat from the other team can end up reoccurring villains in future sessions.
